Why Give?
Pacific McGeorge's distinctive approach to legal education is rooted in a commitment to academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and experiential learning. Academic excellence with a focus on intellectual curiosity requires that we forego the larger class sizes that are the easy route to increased revenues, and experiential learning requires that we develop robust programs to deliver state-of-the-art, "real world" experiences to students that will make them practice-ready and will prepare them to hit the ground running as new attorneys.
Excellence is expensive, and Pacific McGeorge's commitment to providing a quality legal education comes at a significant cost. The Law School draws on revenue from three main sources: tuition, income from endowment, and gifts for current use. Each year, tuition and the Law School endowment provide a percentage of revenue, while gifts from alumni and friends are needed to fill the gap.
The education we provide to students, with its focus on both core academics and experiential learning, is undeniably expensive to achieve. However, we are committed to the task and wholeheartedly believe that legal education is a noble pursuit worthy of your investment. Graduates of Pacific McGeorge serve as leaders in every sector, including right here in our state's capital city, enjoy satisfying professional lives, and are active leaders in their communities, which span the nation and world. Not only will your gift immediately impact the life of a current student, but it will pay off over time as your support will inspire future alumni to give back to their law school. Supporting Pacific McGeorge School of Law is a worthy investment, and we invite you to join us in continuing to build our law school community to be the best that it can be.
