Anna Lucido wants to use her law degree to help families in need, and it's no mystery why. "My family is my rock," she says. "We are spread out around the country, but the minute someone is in need, the rest of the family drops everything to help."
Anna's family was active in the Sons of Italy chapter in her hometown of Monterey, and Anna helped run the tournaments at the bocce club before she left for school. "I don't speak as much Italian as I would like, but my Italian heritage is very important to me," Anna says.
A graduate of San Francisco State University, Anna doesn't remember a time that she didn't want to be a lawyer. McGeorge and the city of Sacramento had the balance she was looking for in a law school setting. "I've lived in large and small cities, and I've attended both large and small schools," says Anna. "McGeorge and Sacramento offered the best of everything."
Now that she's a student at McGeorge, what Anna enjoys the most are the connections she's made with other students through clubs and activities.
A member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Club board and the Wine Law Society, Anna keeps up with even more clubs through friends who are members. In clubs at McGeorge, Anna says, "I get to interact with people in different classes, my voice is heard in some way on campus, but most importantly I am creating relationships and legacies that will help students who come after me."
Looking ahead to her graduation from McGeorge, Anna says, "My goal is to have an offer at a small or mid-sized firm that works with families at their hardest moments in life, easing their stress and pain while in the legal system." For the long term, she would like to own a small firm with the same goal: helping families move forward, just like her family has always helped her.
