Professor Anne Bloom holds a J.D. as well as a Ph.D. in political science. Before teaching, Professor Bloom practiced for over ten years as a public interest lawyer, litigating precedent-setting cases in a variety of areas, including civil rights and civil liberties, mass torts, and federal preemption. Her current research focuses on the role of tort law in shaping cultural perceptions of physical normality. Her most recent articles address how tort litigation portrays sexual identity and disability.
