Summary Bio

A registered lobbyist for twenty years, Chris Micheli is one of Sacramento's leading lawyer/lobbyists and has represented a number of major clients including Lockheed Martin, Cisco Systems, Chevron/Texaco, MCI Worldcom, Calpine, Mattel, Ameriquest, the Orange County Transportation Authority, Mercury Insurance Group, Zenith Insurance, the American Association of Independent Claims Professionals, and the California Grocers Association. The Wall Street Journal identified Mr. Micheli as one of the top three business/tax lobbyists in the state. He began his career as an attorney before becoming General Counsel to the California Manufacturers Association, where he handled tax, budget, and legal issues. Mr. Micheli has been an attorney of record in several key cases, and he regularly testifies before legislative committees and administrative agencies on behalf of clients. A prolific writer, Mr. Micheli is frequently published in professional journals, newspapers and magazines on subjects ranging from tax incentives to transportation. He also published over 100 columns for the Daily Recorder, and he co-authored the handbook California's Business Tax Incentives, by Spidell Publishing, Inc.
