International Internships Enrich Alumni and Student Experience
During the past academic year, two Pacific McGeorge students and four recent graduates interned at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). Students Yen Phan and Danielle Wheeler, and 2011 graduates Eric Papathakis, Gina Le, and Bindhu Varghese worked in chambers with the judges.
Recent graduate Adam Guernsey worked in the Office of the Prosecutor. Students were supported by an international internship fund, established in 2010. This fall, 2011 graduate Jasmine Turner-Bond is interning with Judge Fausto Pocar in the Appeals Chamber of the ICTY. Judge Pocar is also a member of the Pacific McGeorge International Advisory Board.
In the summer of 2013, Pacific McGeorge will also provide opportunities for students to intern in Uganda and Lesotho. The new field placements are being arranged in collaboration with the International Law Institute-African Centre for Legal Excellence.
