The Pacific McGeorge International Jurist Series brings leading judges and lawyers from around the globe to Pacific McGeorge. During the series many prominent judges and professors have visted.
|International Bar Association (IBA) Executive Director Mark Ellis presented "Losing our Right to Privacy: How Far is Too Far?" on April 20, 2015. Ellis leads the foremost international organization of bar associations, law firms and individual lawyers in the world. The IBA is comprised of 203 national bar associations, major international law firms and 40,000 individual members from around the world.|

2011-2012 International Jurists
|Judge Joan Donoghue's visit to Pacific McGeorge on Aug. 31 was the first in the International Jurist Series of the year. Judge Donoghue serves on the International Court of Justice in The Hague. While in Sacramento, Donoghue was interviewed on Capital Public Radio's Insight Program and she spoke at a World Affairs Council, Sacramento Chapter International Courts and Global Governance event.|
|Judge Fausto Pocar of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague spoke at Pacific McGeorge on Oct. 20, 2011. Judge Pocar is a Professor of International Law at the Law Faculty of the University of Milan, where he has also served as Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Vice-Rector. As of Feb. 2000, he has been a Judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague. From 2003, he served as Vice-President and, from 2005 until 2008, as President of the ICTY.|
|Judge Juan Guzmán Tapia of Chile spoke at Pacific McGeorge on Nov. 1, 2011. Judge Guzmán Tapia is a Chilean law professor who gained international prominence as the judge who led the investigation and prosecution of General Augusto Pinochet for human rights violations committed by the Pinochet regime. Guzmán retired from the Santiago appeals court in 2005 and is now a Professor of Procedural Law at the School of Law of the Catholic University of Santiago.|
|Judge Sebastián Picasso is a judge of the Argentinian National Civil Court of Appeals who teaches torts, contracts and consumers law at the University of Buenos Aires Law School. A former practicing attorney, he has been widely published and is a frequent speaker at international forums. Judge Picasso served as a distinguished visiting professor of law at Pacific McGeorge from Feb. 6 to Feb. 16, teaching and co-teaching Torts and Legal Spanish classes. On Feb. 16, he spoke on "Comparative Legal Education: Argentina and the U.S." at a McGeorge International Law Society (MILS) student-sponsored event.|
|Judge Charles Brower spoke at Pacific McGeorge on April 3, 2012. He has served continuously since 1983 as a Judge of the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal in The Hague. Brower is a member of 20 Essex Street Chambers in London. In 2009 Judge Brower was awarded the American Society of International Law’s Manley O. Hudson Medal for “pre-eminent scholarship and achievement in international law . . . without regard to nationality.” Brower received the Stefan A. Riesenfeld Award of the University of California Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in recognition of “outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of international law.” Judge Brower explains his work at the Tribunal in a video excerpt from the ASIL Annual Conference in Mar. 2011.|
