Experiential Learning

The University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law is committed to preparing you to go out into the world, ready to put your education immediately to work. We provide hands-on learning opportunities through legal clinics, real-world skills, more than 100 externships and our award-winning Mock Trial and Moot Court teams. Because of our location in California's capital city, you'll have easy access to state government externships and other opportunities.

Global Learning

Thanks to our connections around the world, our students and graduates have gained invaluable international experience, including:

  • An internship in the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY)
  • Externships in Guatemala, including at the Central America Free Trade Agreement's (CAFTA) Secretariat working on high-profile cases involving environmental complaints
  • An internship with International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) in Geneva, Switzerland
  • Working in international criminal tribunals at the Special Court for Sierra Leone
