Guatemala Program Tuition, Fees & Policies
Classroom (U.S. Law Students and U.S. Lawyers)
Tuition — Due on first day of class, May 31, 2014
- $975 per unit (students will enroll in two (2) to four (4) units)
Spanish Language Academy Fee — Due on May 1, 2014
Applicable only to beginning level students who enroll in Spanish language instruction that is not part of a course that is offered for law school credit.
Student Program Fee — Due on May 1, 2014
Accompanying Person Fee — Due on May 1, 2014
The student program fee for the classroom component includes transfers between the airport in Guatemala City and the program site in Antigua, housing and daily breakfast for the duration of the classroom program, all course materials for students enrolled in the courses, the cost of guided field trips to two legal institutions and for a weekend in the highlands at lega Atitlàn and a weekend at the beach, special lectures by leaders in the field of human rights in Guatemala, opening and closing dinners, sponsored lunches and receptions.
The personal costs for airfare to Guatemala, in-country transportation, and meals other than those mentioned above or any additional recreational fee are not included in the student program fee and must be paid directly by each student. A daily budget of $35 should be sufficient to cover meals and incidentals not included in the program fee.
Field Placement (U.S. Law Students)
Tuition and fees listed below apply to field placements supervised by Pacific McGeorge only. For information on tuition and fees for field placements through the University of Denver, please contact the University of Denver directly.
Tuition for Externship — Due on first day of the program, May 31, 2014
- $3,900 for four (4) units
Student Program Fee — Due on first day of the program, May 1, 2014
Mandatory Transportation Fee for Guatemala Externships Only — Due on May 1, 2014
Students with externships in countries other than Guatemala are not charged this fee but are responsible for their own airfare to their externship location.
A daily budget of $50 should be sufficient to cover meals and incidentals during the field placement.
Guatemalan and other Latin American Law Students and Lawyers
As a truly bilingual and inter-cultural program, the Inter-American Program admits a limited number of highly qualified Guatemalan and other Latin American Law Students and lawyers. Some scholarships may be available for participants from Latin America. Interested students and lawyers from Latin America should contact Luis Mogollón at email@example.com.
