Professors Raquel Aldana and Blake Nordahl were interviewed on Capital Public Radio's Insight program by host Beth Ruyak on Nov. 22, 2016 in a segment titled "McGeorge Immigration Clinic Prepares For Trump Administration." They spoke about the implications of a Trump administration on immigration and how California may choose to diverge from those policies. Topics ranged from Deferred Action to Sanctuary cities. The McGeorge Immigration Law Clinic has helped hundreds of families through service outreach events, including eight annual Immigration Fairs during which volunteers assisted community members with DACA and naturalization applications. The Clinic has represented immigrants from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nigeria, Egypt, the Philippines, Turkmenistan, and Russia.

Professor Aldana is a prolific legal scholar who joined the McGeorge faculty in 2009. For over a decade, Aldana has organized service learning programs to involve law students in the representation of hundreds of immigrants seeking to become citizens or apply for other types of immigration relief. She has served as the Associate Dean of Faculty Scholarship at McGeorge since 2014. Read more..
