A McGeorge team took second place in the Roger J. Traynor California Appellate Moot Court Competition, which was held April 11-12, 2015, at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Janelle Covington, Maricar Pasqual and Chelsea Tibbs battled through a field of 16 state law schools before ultimately placing second, with UC Berkeley finishing first in the final round. Covington and Maricar finished in the Top 10 participants cited for "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Oral Argument."

Professor Adrienne Brungess coached the team with a strong assist from Elizabeth Kim and Professors Ed Telfeyan and Jeff Proske.

"We were fortunate to have several of our alumni who are former competitors in the competition come back to help us in our preparation," Brungess said. "Corrie Manning, Kevin Quade, Teresa Schreiver and Ashley Porter pitched in, as did Elizabeth Ramos 4E, who was part of last year's championship Traynor team."
