FPPC Chair Remke Addresses Order of the Coif Inductees

Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Chair Jodi Remke, '91, gave the keynote address to 15 new members of the McGeorge chapter of the Order of the Coif at the annual induction luncheon on May 20, 2016.

Day Division valedictorian Patrick Ford and Evening Division valedictorian Michelle Daniels were among the Class of 2016 academic stars welcomed into the honor society. Professor Leslie Gielow Jacobs, president of the McGeorge chapter of the Order of the Coif and director of the Capital Center for Law & Policy, welcomed keynote speaker Chair Remke. Many alumni Coif members attended the luncheon, which is open each year to all alumni who are members of the organization that traces its roots to medieval England.

Remke speakingRemke encouraged the Order of the Coif inductees to remember civility, community, and public service throughout their careers during her inspirational remarks.

It was the 34th annual Order of the Coif Congratulatory Luncheon for McGeorge, which holds the 59th chapter in the 82-law school honorary society. Other schools that boast chapters in the organization include Yale, Emory, Stanford and the University of Michigan. New graduates must have finished in the top 10 percent of their classes to qualify for election to membership.

Associate dean Clark Kelso, secretary/treasurer of the McGeorge chapter, introduced the 15 new members. The 15 new members of the Order of the Coif are:
