Michele Finerty, Assistant Director for Technical Services at Pacific McGeorge, was selected as the recipient of the 2013 American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) Volunteer Service Award, and she received that award at the AALL Annual Meeting in Seattle, Wash. held July 13 through 16, 2013.

Earlier this year, Finerty was elected as the Northern California Association of Law Libraries (NOCALL) Vice-President/President-Elect on March 28, 2013 by ballot. She will serve as vice president until June of 2014, and then serve as the NOCALL president until June of 2015.

At the AALL annual meeting, Finerty was guest speaker on the panel entitled "Effective State Legislative Advocacy" on July 13, 2013. While in Seattle, she also developed and moderated a program in Seattle with Matthew Dominguez, the Humane Society's Public Policy Manager for Farm Animal Protection, entitled "Fighting Ag-Gag Laws: Moving the Ball Forward for Farm Animals," on July 12, 2013.
