A Pacific McGeorge team placed second in a regional of the Thomas Tang International Moot Court Competition on October 22-23, 2010, and advanced to the national finals next month in Los Angeles.

Etan Zaitsu and Catherine Mariano will compete for the national title on November 17-21, 2010, in Los Angeles. They were the runner-up team at last weekend's regional held at UC Hastings College of the Law. The 16-team championship field will include three teams from each of five regionals that were held across the country in October and a host team.

Brooke Vanderlinde and Kim Bowman comprised the second McGeorge entry in the San Francisco tournament, and Bowman received the award for second-best oralist in the event. Erich Shiners, '06, and Athena Roussos coached the McGeorge teams.

The Tang competition is named for the late Judge Thomas Tang, who served on the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court from 1977 to 1995 after becoming the first Asian American to be appointed to the federal judiciary. The moot court tournament is administered by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Law Foundation.
