Moot Court Team Wins NY National Regionals, Advances to Finals

The McGeorge School of Law team of Andia Farzaneh, Melissa Currier and Lilliana Udang took first place in the New York National Moot Court 67th Annual Competition Northern California Regional Competition (Region 12), held at UC Davis Nov 18-20, 2016.  The team also won the award for Best Brief in the competition.

Professor Daniel Croxall, '08, and alumni coach Etan Zaitsu, '11 assisted professor Ed Telfeyan, director of the moot court program, with coaching the team.  Student coach Navnit Bhandal and student research assistant Kynsie Lovell assisted the team.

The team will compete in the New York National Moot Court Final Rounds to be held at the New York City Bar from Jan. 30 through Feb. 2, 2017.  McGeorge has sent a team to the  final competition for four of the past six years. 

Last year the McGeorge team of Jenifer Gee, '16, and Kimberly Van Spronsen, '16, took first place in the New York National Moot Court Regional Competition, which was hosted by McGeorge. Gee also won the Top Oralist award. McGeorge students Sheena Farro, '16, and Michael Shepherd, '16, took second place at the 2015 regional competition.
