Former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese will speak on “National Security Challenges” at 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in Classroom A at Pacific McGeorge. Meese, who served as the 75th Attorney General of the United States during the second half of the Reagan administration, will be a guest lecturer in adjunct professor McGregor Scott’s National Security Law class. The event is open to all law students and faculty. Meese, who began his career as an Alameda County deputy district attorney before becoming then-Governor Reagan’s legal affairs secretary and eventual choice to lead the U.S. Department of Justice, is holder of the Ronald Reagan Chair in Public Policy at the Heritage Foundation. His distinguished legal career includes service as a member of the faculty at the University of San Diego School of Law.
