The nationally ranked McGeorge moot court team competed in five fall events. Their season opened in October with Melissa Bocanegra and KC Souza earning the second best brief award at the Thomas Tang Western Regional in Los Angeles. A McGeorge team won the New York National Moot Court regional competition in fall, and spring semester is beginning with a trip to NYC for the finals on January 30, 2017.

The McGeorge School of Law team of Andia Farzaneh, Melissa Currier and Lilliana Udang advanced to sixth place in the New York National Moot Court Final Rounds, among the 28 teams that had advanced to the finals. The competition began with regionals in November with 185 teams from 120 law schools.

Over the weekend of Nov. 10-13, three teams were in action. Anna Curry and Rainey Jacobson represented the law school at the Chicago Bar Association's event. Two tandems, Tania Dominguez/Jose Parra and Katie Hulse/Michael Taney traveled to San Diego for the 28th Annual National Criminal Procedure Moot. Dominguez and Parra took third place in the best petitioner brief category. McGeorge also participated in the Pepperdine National Entertainment Competition with Anton Babich, Conor Hawkins and Daniel Pickolick making a solid showing.

The fall campaign ended on a high note with one of two McGeorge teams, Melissa Currier, Andia Farzaneh and Lillian Udang, taking first place in a New York National Moot Court regional held in Davis, California. The team also won the award for Best Brief in the competition. Rosemary Deck, Amanpreet Grewal and Kyle Owen also competed admirably in that tourney. The winners advanced to the national finals to be held Jan. 30, 2017 through Feb. 2, 2017 at the New York City Bar. That prestigious event, which McGeorge has qualified for in four of the last six years, will kick off an even busier second-semester campaign for the moot court team with six other spring tournaments on tap.
