Sacramento's City Council and Mayor recognized the 90th Anniversary of University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with a Resolution on March 11, 2014. The Resolution was presented during the weekly City Council meeting to Dean Francis J. Mootz, III by Steven Hansen, '11, who spoke about Pacific McGeorge's accomplishments over the years.

Mayor Pro Tem Angelique Ashby, '03 represents District 1 and Hansen represents District 4 on the Sacramento City Council. Ashby shared her story about earning her law degree from Pacific McGeorge as a working single parent. Then-Dean of Admissions Jane Kelso encouraged Angelique to think about how, with a law degree, she could help people with her same struggles.

Mayor Kevin Johnson and Daniel Conway, '13, Johnson's Chief-of-Staff, were also at the presentation. Johnson grew up in the Oak Park neighborhood where Pacific McGeorge is located.  Also in attendance was Vice Mayor Jay Schenirer, who represents Oak Park's District 5.

Dean Mootz shared remarks about Pacific McGeorge's 90 years of accomplishments, the strong alumni network in Sacramento and the future University of the Pacific graduate school campus in Oak Park.
