Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Andrew Hoch, ’84, as the new administrative director of the Division of Workers’ Compensation on April 26.

Hoch, a former chief assistant Attorney General with a record of involvement in high-profile government issues, will be charged with reshaping the state’s $18 billion workers’ comp system that was recently overhauled by the Legislature. With the state Department of Justice, Hoch played a key role in multi-state tobacco settlement, developed the state’s legal strategy during the energy crisis, and managed same-sex marriage and recall election litigation.
