Major General William K. Suter, the Clerk of the Supreme Court of the United States visited Pacific McGeorge on Constitution Day, September 17, 2008.

Suter, who is only the 19th person to hold the position as guardian of the High Court, delivered an address on “Your First U.S. Supreme Court Argument” to a packed classroom. He regaled the law students with tales of the greatest Supreme Court oral arguments he has witnessed and humorous anecdotes about things that can go wrong when you face the most imposing jurists in the world.

Earlier in the day, Suter met with members of the Dean’s Council and local judicial leaders at a downtown breakfast. He also spoke at a faculty luncheon attended by many students.
