When Julie Anne Davies started her law career in the '80s as a business litigator at a Los Angeles mega-firm, she set aside her ambition — to work in a small practice serving Spanish-speaking clients.
"I had absolutely no idea how to do that," recalled Davies, now a professor at University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.
