Inter-American Experiential Learning

The Inter-American program is committed to offering students opportunities to learn by doing and most importantly to connect in a meaningful way with Latino clients and with the most pressing issues affecting Latin America.

The Inter-American program offers students four different paths for experiential learning:

Our community partners have been chosen very selectively to ensure that each student will gain a quality experience while at the same time making a meaningful contribution to the organization. To date, we have focused on organizations located in communities where the law school has significant ties.

Domestically, we work closely with organizations throughout California that provide legal services to Latino immigrants.

Internationally, we have developed ties with prominent non-governmental groups in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Chile, and Uruguay that work in the areas of environmental justice, human rights, trade and development, and commercial or corporate law. As we continue to expand and explore other placement opportunities, we welcome interested organizations to contact us.
