Practice Area Pathways

Whether you arrive at McGeorge with a clear idea of the kind of lawyer you want to be, or plan to explore a variety of opportunities during your legal studies, helping you to successfully reach your goals is our priority. To help you make the most of your education, we have developed Pathways to the Legal Profession, which conveniently identify paths of legal study and groups related coursework under areas of interest. Reviewing the Pathways as you develop your academic plan can help you ensure that you plan for the elective courses needed to reach your academic and future career goals.

Please note that as a general rule, the Pathways to the Legal Profession do not list LL.M.-only courses, M.S.L.-only courses, provisionally approved courses, one-unit courses, or, with the exception of the Bar Preparation Pathway, required courses.

These Pathways may also serve as a useful tool as you and your academic counselor work to develop a comprehensive academic plan.
